Frequently asked questions
How do I track my container?
Enter your container number (starts with 4 letters, e.g. MAEU1234567) or bill of lading number. SHAQ automatically detects the carrier from the prefix and displays tracking status directly on this page. For DCSA-compliant carriers (Maersk, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, ONE), structured tracking events are available via API.
What is a container number prefix?
The first 4 letters of a container number identify the carrier. For example, MAEU = Maersk, CMDU = CMA CGM, COSU = COSCO, HLXU = Hapag-Lloyd, ONEU = ONE, MEDU = MSC, EGLV = Evergreen.
Is tracking free?
Yes. Container tracking is completely free. SHAQ provides this as a value-added service. You do not need an account or commercial agreement to track shipments.
Which carriers support structured API tracking?
Maersk, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, and ONE are DCSA-compliant carriers that provide structured tracking events via API. Other carriers (MSC, COSCO, Evergreen) will show carrier identification. Full structured tracking for all carriers is available when booked through SHAQ.
Can I track multiple containers at once?
Yes. Enter multiple container numbers separated by commas or spaces. SHAQ will detect each carrier and display tracking status for all of them.
What if my carrier is not listed?
SHAQ supports the 7 largest carriers covering 79%% of global container capacity. If your carrier is not listed, contact us at ayang@shaq-log.com and we will add it.
