DCSA (Digital Container Shipping Association) is the industry standard for shipping data APIs. SHAQ uses DCSA v2.2.0 event model, meaning one integration handles all DCSA-compliant carriers. Currently Maersk, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, and ONE are DCSA-compliant.

How do I get carrier rate quotes?

Carrier rate APIs require commercial agreements with each shipping line. SHAQ integrates rate APIs once service contracts are in place. Until then, the SHAQ SFX Freight Index provides market-estimated rates based on algorithmic analysis.

Does SHAQ offer booking APIs?

SHAQ supports DCSA-compliant booking requests. Once commercial agreements with carriers are active, shippers can submit booking requests directly through the SHAQ API, bypassing traditional freight forwarders entirely.

Before DCSA

Each carrier had different API formats, event codes, and field names. "Gate out" from Maersk and "gate out" from Hapag-Lloyd meant subtly different things. Building a multi-carrier integration required a separate translation layer for every single line.

With DCSA v2.2.0

30+ shipment events are standardized into one schema. Once SHAQ builds a parser for the standard, adding a new DCSA-compliant carrier is a configuration change, not a new engineering project. This is why SHAQ can scale to all carriers rapidly.
